Timberjacks in Cologne is going for vertical green once again as an attractive eye-catcher for a new restaurant.
Timberjacks already chose a green wall for the interior design of the new restaurant in Siegen in autumn 2021. “Our guests love our cuisine, but equally appreciate the attractive ambience, the natural look with lots of wood and real greenery. They repeatedly praise the good room acoustics and the pleasant room climate. We are also very satisfied with the quality of the system. Everything works perfectly. So it was no question that we also wanted to welcome our guests with a green wall when we opened our restaurant in Cologne,” says Galina Hansen, Head of Operations at Timberjacks Holding. In Cologne, too, the wall planted with real plants on the staircase to the upper floor is a wonderful green eye-catcher and a source of great pleasure for the guests.
A green touch with the LivePanel
Achim Eilingsfeld from Gefässerie in Hammelburg, responsible for the planning and realisation, is satisfied: “The special thing about this project is that the staircase is directly in front of the plant wall. There is also an opening in the wall for access to the restroom. However, the modular design of LivePanel by Mobilane made it possible to implement this without any problems.” In total, an area of 38 sqm was greened with the patented LivePanel system. The modular, fully recyclable vertical greening system includes replaceable plant cassettes filled with substrate. Installation and attachment of the LivePanel system is quick and easy. Each row of cassettes is placed in a gutter profile, which also serves as a water reservoir. The plants supply themselves with water from the profile via capillary action.
How it is done
In the first step, the technical components were installed. The pre-cultivated cassettes were only installed before the project was handed over. For the greenery, Timberjacks chose a striking mix that creates an attractive, three-dimensional look.
Each plant is special: Asplenium nidus, a fern with narrow, light green leaves; Monstera minima with exotic-looking, slit leaves; Platycerium bifucatum with attractive, antler-shaped leaves; Scindapsus Aureum with light green leaves with yellow and whitish markings; Philodendron scandens with heart-shaped glossy leaves. A dense, opulent, splendid green decorates the room. To ensure that this remains the case, the LivePanel system is carefully cared for and maintained several times a year, even after completion.
