Immediate green, immediate impact: the new living walls at Rabobank

Sustainability is a key priority for Rabobank, as evidenced by its continuous commitment to fostering a green and healthy work environment. A prime example is the replacement of the green wall at the bank’s headquarters in Utrecht. The existing wall, which had reached the end of its lifecycle, was replaced with a future-proof LivePanel system from Mobilane. By opting for high-quality materials, retaining the existing structure and water supply system, and fostering close collaboration between Rabobank, Ambius, and Mobilane, a sustainable solution with long-lasting impact and enduring greenery was achieved.

In addition, the bank required the new system to be sustainable and seamlessly integrate into the existing structure. Mobilane and Ambius rose to the occasion. By utilizing the circular LivePanel system—crafted from recycled materials—they preserved the existing structure and parts of the water supply system. This approach minimized the need for structural adjustments and prevented a major renovation.

Designed as a natural oasis in the workplace, the FunForest incorporates the green wall as a central element to create a calming atmosphere. The lush, vibrant wall brings nature indoors, enhances air quality, and contributes to a healthy indoor climate. This space offers employees a place to pause, recharge, and promote mental vitality—an essential investment in staff well-being and productivity.
