Mobilane Green Screen

What material is the Mobilane Green Screen made of?
This Mobilane patented system consists of a metal grid that is completely covered with plants. These plants are placed in potting soil in a biodegradable coconut fibre container, which is placed in a section at the bottom of the grid. The coconut container is formed from coconut fibres held together by natural latex.

How many screens and posts do I need?
The Mobilane Green Screens are 120 cm wide. The posts needed to stabilise the hedge have different dimensions: the iron post is Ø 4.8 cm; the wooden post: 7.5 x 7.5 cm. Leave about 3 cm between the posts and the hedge elements so that the plants are not crushed between the grid and the post. For the above-mentioned screen size, a centre-to-centre distance must be maintained of 130 – 132 cm.

Can I install my Mobilane Green Screen myself?
Yes! The Mobilane Green Screen is easy to install. First dig a trench of at least 40×40 cm (for a screen of 120cm x 180cm). Place the posts approximately 125 cm (max. 130 cm) apart.

Mobilane has developed special brackets for attaching the screens to the posts.  Refer to the installation manual for full instructions.

When should I prune the Mobilane Green Screen?
Depending on how deep you want the hedge, you can prune once or twice a year. The best pruning months are April / May and September / October. This allows the new shoots to grow and harden before winter. You should only prune the new shoots.

Does the Mobilane Green Screen need feeding?
It is advisable to feed the planted screens regularly so that they grow well and the leaves remain nicely shaped. It is preferable to use slow-release fertilisers. Feed at least once a year, in the spring. If you plant before mid-August, feed your Green Screen one month after installation. If planting later, you need only feed the hedge in the spring.

Is the Mobilane Green Screen resistant to frost?
At extremely low temperatures, dry winds or large temperature changes, the hedge can potentially drop its leaves to prevent drying out. Do not worry – in the spring, the plant will develop new shoots and leaf growth to replace these.

Why does a Mobilane Euonymus Green Scree show leaf loss and discolorations?
Due to dry conditions during the growing season, possibly accompanied by exposure to bright sun and wind, the Mobilane Euonymus hedge may lose its leaf partially or completely in the winter. The hedge will sprout regrowth in the spring.

MobiRoof ECO

What is MobiRoof ECO?
MobiRoof ECO is a circular, lightweight ready-made green roof system, full of sedum planting. It is particularly suitable for green roofs that are not walked upon. MobiRoof ECO is a system made of cassettes cultivated with several types of Sedum (including Album, Spurium, Reflexum). The cassette is lined with a water-retaining substrate.

Is MobiRoof ECO suitable for all roofs?
MobiRoof ECO is applicable on flat roofs and roofs with a slope gradient of up to 20% (10 degrees). Beyond 20%, extra measures must be taken to secure the cassettes. Due to the low weight and dimensions of the cassettes, the system can also be applied very quickly and easily to garages, dormers, extensions and garden outbuildings.

Can I install the MobiRoof ECO cassettes myself?
The sedum cassettes can be easily mounted on the roof, just like a tile floor. In a short time this creates a carpet of vegetation – a ready-made green roof with insulating effects. MobiRoof ECO gives a roof an instantly natural green result.

How many litres of water does a MobiRoof ECO cassette retain?
The cassette is lined with substrate to aid water drainage and storage. The minimum water capacity is approx. 20 litres/ m2. The water buffering capacity can be increased to 30 litres/ m2.

How much does a MobiRoof ECO cassette weigh?
The weight is about 38 kg / m2 when dry and about 58 kg / m2 when fully saturated with water.

How do I look after a MobiRoof ECO sedum roof?
Maintenance must be carried out once or twice a year on the green roof, focusing on:

  • General maintenance
  • Fertilization in the Spring using sedum fertilizer
  • Pruning, usually from mid-September, leaving small clippings on the roof whilst removing any larger trimmings.

NoiStop

What is NoiStop?
Noistop is a sound barrier screen that reduces neighbouring sound by an average of ten decibels. Unlike many noise barriers, NoiStop not only blocks the sound, but also absorbs the sound waves. This greatly reduces the ambient noise.

Where can I use NoiStop?
The NoiStop panels are suitable for all locations where noise is a problem, such as school playgrounds, busy roads and community areas.

WallPlanter

What is WallPlanter?
WallPlanter is a unique green facade system. WallPlanter is made from multiple Mobilane Green Screens grown in aluminum containers. After growth and establishment on the nursery, these planters are attached to the WallPlanter system on a building’s facade; multi-storey car parks, hotels, offices, commercial and retail outlets. With its specially designed irrigation and drainage system, the screens are supplied with water and nutrients, so that the planted hedge panels continue to develop, leaving the green facade looking spectacular, year after year.

Does WallPlanter need an irrigation system?
Yes. Each planter is supplied with water and nutrients by an irrigation system. To prevent too much water from remaining in the planter, for example, after periods of prolonged heavy rain, each planter has its own integrated drainage. As well as draining excess water, this ensures a continued supply of oxygen to the plant roots.

Is WallPlanter suitable for any building facade?
WallPlanter can be placed against almost any facade. Because of the load weight of the WallPlanter elements, a robust supporting construction is required. Depending on the strength of the facade and its foundation, this supporting structure can be attached to the facade or rest on the ground base.

Does WallPlanter stay green all year round?
The most common plant used for a WallPlanter green wall is Hedera helix “Woerner”. This plant is a very strong hardy ivy with large dark green leaves. In winter, the leaves turn slightly reddish brown but it retains its leaves throughout the winter.

Where can I find WallPlanter BIM models?
BIM models for WallPlanter can be found on the downloads page under written specifications & software models.
