Vertical Garden at The Launch Factory

Vertical gardens thrive both indoors and outdoors, but during the grey winter months, a colourful living wall can be a welcome backdrop. Suiteplants, an agent of Mobilane products in the United States, recently installed this living plant wall in The Launch Factory. The Launch Factory is a shared working environment with flex spaces in a World War II textile factory on Wilkinson Boulevard in Charlotte, North Carolina.

“The customer wanted to add a vertical garden as a focal point, but also to soften some of the huge brick walls,” says Eric Westerduin strategies director at Suiteplants. According to Westerduin, maintenance is minimal – small walls can be watered manually, and larger walls like these have an automatic irrigation system that fills the wall twice a week, based on the water requirements of the plants.
