This project is located in the Huntington Centre building in Columbus, Ohio. Originally designed by Skidmore, Owing & Merrill and developed by Hines in 1984, the Huntington Centre is covered with imperial red granite and bronze-coloured glass. The Huntington is an office building with 37 floors spanning one million square meters and got a complete makeover in 2019. The 33-year-old received a completely new look, designed by the architectural firm Design Collective Inc.
Green wall with plants
A green wall with a height of 2 floors spanning 224 square meters with 8500 plants was realised in the lobby of the Huntington Centre building. This unique green wall surrounds the escalators in the lobby of the Huntington Centre building and the height of the wall makes it a true eye-catcher in the entrance of the building. The green wall in the lobby will stay green the whole year, even when the world outside turns brown and grey in the winter.
The LivePanel green wall system is characterized by having low water consumption and being lightweight and modular. Over the years, the popularity of the green walls has strongly increased. Many architects are increasingly implementing green walls in their new designs for new construction or renovation of existing buildings. This is partly due to the proven positive effects of plants in the living, working and learning environment. In this way, the customer benefits from the advantages of a green climate. Improving the indoor climate increases productivity and creativity, which can have a positive effect on executive activities in business.
