Brilliant Group creates urban jungle with living green room dividers in new office building
- LiveDivider PLUS
Brilliant Group in Duiven recently furnished a completely new building, to which the company will move on June 5, 2023. The office spaces with green room dividers have an “urban jungle” look, to facilitate an optimal sense of tranquility and inspiration for employees and visitors. A key item and eye catcher that contributes to this living, green interior is the LiveDivider PLUS. The interior planting was advised and realised by Bloembinderij Lindhout.
A green room divider
The wholesaler in safety and hygiene placed 15 of this modular, living room divider in the rooms. They serve to screen off the desks and clusters. With this unique system, modules with interchangeable plant cassettes can be stacked on top of each other as desired. This creates more freedom to arrange a space flexibly and bring greenery close to people. This creates a movable, two-sided green wall.
A new way of appreciating the employee
“We are in the process of achieving BREEAM certification and WELL certification for an optimal working environment for our employees. One aspect of this is bringing nature inside and making an association with a living, green environment. In addition, we ourselves wanted the spaces to exude homeliness so that employees feel comfortable here. We have an example function and as an employer we want to attract young potentials on the one hand and on the other hand offer our permanent employees a nice place so that they see that they are appreciated. They are all flex spaces and we also don’t speak of office spaces, but gardens,” says Ellis Rosendahl, co-owner of Brilliant Group.
Office becomes urban jungle work garden
There are three different “gardens” in the building, all decorated in different atmospheres. There is the space Tranquility; here people work in silence and no phone calls are allowed either. Rosendahl: “Rest is meant to retreat for half an hour and work focused without being disturbed. In this area there are mostly plants in pots, because there is no need to create extra privacy. Then there is the space Dynamic. As the name suggests, meetings, phone calls and sparring take place in this room. This is where the LiveDividers come into their own perfectly. In addition to a shielding function, the living room dividers also have an acoustic function. The third space, called Flow, most closely resembles the familiar office garden. Here people work, make phone calls and consult in a moderate tone. Also there are four cabins to retreat and work in silence.”
A total green image
In addition to the LiveDividers, Brilliant Group has other plants in pots to create a completely natural environment. Florist Lindhout was brought in as interior planter. As official Mobilane partner, they recommended the LiveDividers because of the handiness, design and the fact that the product has a water buffer of 4 to 6 weeks. Which is very handy during the summer vacations. “When people come for the first time they are often overwhelmed by the jungle effect. Pretty soon after, I still get to hear that they really like it and feel comfortable with the atmosphere the space exudes. Sustainability is an important aspect for us. People can reserve the rooms and desks in advance using a system. By means of a sensor under the desks, we can also track whether someone has actually been sitting there. Based on that occupancy, we also clean the desks. This saves water and man hours. After all, if no one has sat at a desk for a day, it doesn’t need to be cleaned daily either.” said Rosendahl.
