GARDEN TIPS

The original Green Screen

Want an instant green fence in your garden? Go for Mobilane’s Green Screens. The Mobilane Green Screen is the original ready-to-use screen. Our Greens Screens are the most popular instant fence for garden use, and their consistent quality means we’re the market leader in this field.

Sustainable green screen

Mobilane’s Green Screens are pre-grown at our own nursery, using sustainable methods, and offer instant green results. But it’s not just the production methods that are sustainable; the product itself is fully sustainable too. The hedge is grown in a biodegradable container made from coconut fiber and does not come with any packaging, completely eliminating any unnecessary waste.

Different sizes and types

Mobilane’s Green Screen is available in different sizes and with different types of plants. One of our most popular types of green screen right now is Euonymus “Dart’s Blanket”. This shouldn’t come as a surprise, as Euonymus is a slow-growing plant: it doesn’t need a huge amount of pruning, which makes this hedge even easier to maintain. In other words: the ideal solution for a low-maintenance garden.

Installation of Mobilane Green Screen

Installing a Mobilane Green Screen could not be easier: instant greenery and full cover can be achieved in just a few simple steps. Watch our installation guide or YouTube videos for instructions or advice. Prefer to have an expert install your green screens? Take a look at our contact page for more information.

How to maintain a Mobilane Green Screen?

For the first year after installation, the hedge should ideally be watered on a regular basis (approximately 10 liters per meter during dry period, 3-4 times a week). An NPK fertilizer must be added when installing the hedges, preferably close to the coconut fiber. This is because the process of the coconut fiber breaking down and the hedge taking root requires a lot of nutrition. We recommend that our hedges are not pruned for the first year after they are planted. Any long branches should be threaded back through the steel grid. If any holes start to appear in the hedge, the ends should be pruned to ensure that the inactive branches come into bud and start growing again. In addition, we recommend pruning your hedges once or twice a year. The best pruning months are April/May and September/October.

Applications

As our Green Screens come in many different types and sizes, there is no end to the ways in which they can be used. Our hedges are a sustainable alternative to traditional wood fencing, to name just one example. They can also be used to partition your garden into smaller areas. For example, you can create a cozy atmosphere in a corner using a garden lounge set and add some privacy using a green screen.
