Instant privacy with a sustainable boundary fence at new residential area in the Netherlands

The new Kop van Waal housing project in Tiel (NL), designed by Mulleners + Mulleners, architects, uses more than 200 Mobilane Green Screens as sustainable boundary fences. Hedera Helix “Woerner” Green Screens with a height of 1.80 meters were selected for the project. The Green Screens were installed by Bunnik Groep. On the Vijverterrein development site in Tiel, De Groene Weerd tasked BAM Wonen and Synchroon with the construction of 107 owner-occupied homes across two phases. Phase 1 has since been completed, and phase 2 is currently being built.

Green design by Mulleners + Mulleners architects

Mulleners + Mulleners are active throughout the whole of the Netherlands in the field of architecture, urban development, and landscaping. They are always striving to come up with designs that strike a harmonious balance between architecture and the environment. The Mulleners + Mulleners design for the new housing project in Tiel is characterized by its use of light bricks and wood details, in the form of fences and roof overhangs. The incorporation of these elements ensures that the residential area as a whole is perfectly integrated into the typical landscape of Echteldsedijk and the Vijverberg nature reserve. A green park with a creek that drains rainwater into the surrounding bioswales sits at the heart of the Kop van Waal project.
Nature was the main focus in the overall plan. To Mulleners + Mulleners, the natural world is always an important factor in any design. Therefore, Mobilane’s Green Screens fit perfectly within the plans, and Mulleners + Mulleners has several years of experience using these products as boundary fences. Different types and heights

The Green Screen heights comply with the legal maximum height for boundary fences. A fence or wall next to or behind a house must not exceed 2 meters. However, any fence in front of the house must be no taller than 1 meter. That being the case, we also offer other Green Screens in taller sizes.
